Welcome to Week 1 of our Learning to Live by Faith Series. Included below are study questions for deeper engagement of the passages and the reading schedule. We pray that the Spirit will reveal the unrivaled supremacy of Jesus through the passages.

QUESTIONS

1. What does the author reveal about Jesus’s role and identity in Hebrews 1-2?

2. Why was it important for the author to draw from Old Testament Scriptures, what does this tell us about the significance of the Old Testament?

3. For further study, explore the corresponding Old Testament verses the author states in Ch. 1. There are 7 verses:

   1. Psalm 2:7 | Heb 1:5

   2. 2 Sam 7:14 | Heb 1:5

   3. Deut 32:43 | Heb 1:6

   4. Psalm 104:4 | Heb 1-7

   5. Psalm 45:6-7 | Heb 1:8-9

   6. Psalm 102:25-27 | Heb 1:10-12

   7. Psalm 110:1 | Heb 1:13

4. Out of the 7 verses in Ch. 1, 5 of them are from the Psalms. What was significant about including passages from the Psalms, and why is that significant for us today in relation to Jesus? (Hint: Psalms was primarily known for?)

5. In Hebrews 1:1-9, the author describes the Son of God (Jesus) using seven descriptive statements. Name them and reflect on Jesus' identity through worship.
